300 days of sunshine a year and a non-stop
bustle of life. Anyone who has never
seen a Provençal village at siesta time
might think the partying never stops here. In
Cannes, international producers and stars strut
their stuff, while Formula I sends shivers through
the Rock of Monaco. All year round, the many casinos
draw gamblers and night owls. Accomplished chefs
engage in battles of creativity to seduce gourmet
palates, while the land of jazz vibrates to the
rhythm of swing and rejoices in the world’s
most select greens and fairways.

Those lucky enough to live here
know that in a single day they can enjoy all the
pleasures of a dawn stroll through the delicious
scents of a Provençal market, update their
wardrobes at the world’s leading couturiers’,
take in an afternoon’s skiing in winter
and then round off the day with a pastis and olives
as they watch the parade of pétanque players
on the Place des Lices. Although the Gassin Golf & Country Club is a haven for peace and serenity,
it is also an ideal base for all the many pleasures
the Côte d’Azur has to offer.

Signac was the first
artist to discover and immortalise the tiny
fishing-port of Saint-Tropez, which Maupassant described
as « … one of those unassuming little
villages, born out of the sea like a shellfish, that
lives on salt wind and fish ». Matisse, Picasso,
Klein, César... and so many others would also
make the Côte d’Azur their home port. Movies
stars, all the nobility of Europe, top sportsmen, eccentric
millionaires were all, in their turn, captivated by
this “land beloved by the gods”.
The Côte d’Azur
has always been a powerful magnet, long before
it came to be known by its modern name. Even in classical
times, many a “visitor” found himself unable
to leave this land of light and made it his home for
evermore.

Here on this world famous
peninsula in Provence, the Gassin Golf & Country Club has found the space to measure up to its ambitions.
Known for being one of the loveliest villages of France,
the medieval village of Gassin calmly overlooks the
port of Saint-Tropez. The valleys comprise terraces
lined with vineyards, secret forests of Mediterranean
trees together with the crystalline hills of the Massif
des Maures... a unique landscape in which this country
club has been designed and created with love and passion,
with absolute care for the harmony of the setting.
